Most recently, the club announced they’ve acquired 1997 born defender Liam Murray from the Windsor Spitfires. The Windsor Spitfires have acquired Winnipeg Jets prospect Brendan Lemieux from the Barrie Colts. In exchange, the Colts receive centerman Anthony Stefano along with two draft picks that can be used to acquire more pieces come OHL trade deadline or to take to the bank at future OHL Priority Selections. The Windsor Spitfires have acquired 1998 born defender Tyler Nother from the London Knights in exchange for two draft picks. As close as the Western Conference in the OHL is, the Knights and Spitfires have a rivalry which one could argue is unmatched in the entire OHL, and the two teams rarely ever help each other out by engaging in a trade. It’s happened two times in the past couple weeks, first with Michael Giugovaz and now with Tyler Nother.

A week or so after @OHLInsiders reported that the London Knights were getting offers from both the Windsor Spitfires and Mississauga Steelheads for overage goaltender Michael Giugovaz, the Knights finalized a trade to send Giugovaz to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for a conditional 7th round draft choice in 2017.
