The London Knights announced they’ve managed to acquire overage forward Joel Wigle from the Erie Otters today. Wigle had previously been sent home to Brantford, ON as a result of an overage problem in Erie. He’s been staying in game shape by skating and and attending Caledonia Corvairs Jr. B games and practices. He was going to join the Corvairs if he couldn’t find an OHL suitor.
Dale Hunter had done his homework on Wigle as he made multiple phone calls to the Corvairs head coach Mike Bullard regarding Wigle’s shape and commitment. London and Erie started chatting about Wigle at about 3:45pm and the deal was done by about 10 minutes later.
